Jump on the train in the UK and head off for a seven-day adventure, staying first in Montreux for two nights, a Swiss town with a Mediterranean feel that sits on beautiful Lac Léman surrounded by mountains, before taking the Golden Pass line from Montreux's Riviera to the Bernese Alps, which weaves its way through some stunning landscapes to Interlaken, then board the Lucerne-Interlaken express for some more seriously stunning scenery before arriving in Lucerne for a two-night stay. Take a trip up Mount Pilatus or Mount Rigi from Lucerne, enjoying a boat journey, cogwheel railway and cable car, plus the most incredible views. Continue on to Strasbourg, the capital of France's Alscace region, for the final two nights. Strasbourg's location on the German border gives it a unique Franco-German culture, and it boasts medieval architecture, the gothic Notre-Dame cathedral (which you can climb up) with an astronomical clock and picturesque canals.
