Itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Alghero
You pick up your car from Alghero Airport and it's just a 15-minute drive to your first destination, where you will check into a gorgeous 4-star hotel with breathtaking views over the sea. Enjoy a complimentary welcome drink and swim in either the sea or one of the hotel's saltwater swimming pools. Enjoy a spa treatment and a delicious meal in the panoramic restaurant.
Day 2 Gulf of Porto Conte sailing trip
This morning, you depart for a day trip on a catamaran exploring the gorgeous scenery of the gulf of Porto Conte and Capo Caccia. Lunch is included, and there will be stops for snorkelling and swimming.
Day 3 Capo Caccia and Neptune's Grotto
Explore Capo Caccia and Neptune's Grotto by land! A scenic drive will take you to the peak of a limestone cliff that overlooks Foradada Island, and will give you the chance to admire the spectacular view. Next it's on to the Scala del Capriolo, a 656-step staircase that leads down to the impressive Neptune's Grotto caves.
Day 4 Drive to Costa Paradiso
It's time to head off to Costa Paradiso, but we recommend a detour to Spiaggia La Pelosa (1hr drive) on the north-west tip for some lunch and a swim before taking the 1hr45min scenic coastal drive to your next destination. You will be staying in Hotel Costa Paradiso, which has stunning sea views, a hot tub and a saltwater swimming pool on the terrace.
Day 5 Relax on the beach
You are surrounded by a very high number of beautiful beaches, so perhaps you would like to make the most of them today. There are a number of cycling, walking and snorkelling opportunities if you feel energetic, otherwise beach hop, relax and swim.
Day 6 Drive to Cala Gonone
With Cala Gonone on the east coast just under three hours away, either make your way straight there or if you would like to drive the coast of Costa Smeralda, you can detour slightly. In Cala Gonone, you are checking into yet another hotel with stunning sea views, a large swimming pool and your room will also offer amazing views of the sea.
Day 7 Day dinghy trip on the Gulf of Orosei
Visit some of Sardinia's most gorgeous beaches and caves in a memorable day out on a dinghy, which will enable you to anchor and swim at beaches like Cala Luna, Cala Goloritze, Cala Mariolu and more. It's a very beautiful stretch of coast and this trip is sure to be a highlight.
Day 8 Relax on the beautiful Maimoni Beach
Today, either choose to relax at the hotel for the day, walk to one of the very beautiful beaches (there is a scenic walk to Cala Goloritze), explore the area by car or enjoy some water sports.
Day 9 Drive to Capo Carbonara via Monte Turno beach
Say goodbye to Cala Gonome, it's time to move down south. We suggest a stop-off at Monte Turno beach on the way down, known for its fine, white sand and pristine, shallow clear waters. You are heading right down to Capo Carbonara on the south-east tip and your hotel for the next three nights is Cala Caterina, which has another stunning location with spectacular views, spa, swimming pool and gourmet restaurant.
Day 10 Sailing/snorkelling trip around Capo Carbonara
Enjoy a sailing/snorkelling trip around the marine protected area of Capo Carbonara in the morning, spend the afternoon at your leisure and enjoy a 2hr kayaking session at sunset.
Day 11 Day exploring Capo Carbonara
Spend the day exploring the protected area of Capo Carbonara, stop at beautiful beaches, spot the famous pink flamingos on the pond of Notteri, admire the majestic cliffs towering over the sea and the watchtower of Porto Giunco.
Day 12 Drive to Sinai Peninsula
It's time to drive to your final destination, but we suggest you fit in one more breathtaking beach on your way, stopping in the south-west of the island to visit the hidden gem Spiaggia di Cala Domestica, a 2hr drive. Spend a few hours there before heading on to your final hotel, which sits right on a lovely beach with yet more incredible views.
Day 13 Day cycling tour around Sinai Peninsula
Let's hope you woke up feeling fresh this morning, ready for a fun day's cycling through the fascinating Sinis wetlands where you will see colonies of pink flamingos and one of the most beautiful spots on Sardinia: the white quartz beach of Is Arutas and the Phoenician ruins of Tharros.
Day 14 Relax on the beautiful Spiaggia di Maimoni
Spend your last full day doing whatever you fancy in this very beautiful area of Sardinia. Our recommendation is to visit Spiaggia di Maimoni, which features light sand made of quartz beads that shine in the sun.
Day 15 Final day - time to return home
Did we deliver on our promise to take you from coast to coast and leave you in beach heaven? You've been to incredible beaches in the north-west, north, east, south-east, south-west and west of Sardinia, and we hope you have enjoyed it as much as we did. Time to return your car to Alghero Airport and fly home.
