Itinerary

Day 1   Drive from Podgorica Airport to Lovćen National Park

On arrival at Podgorica airport, you will be met by the car rental company, and once the handover is complete, you will be free to get on the road to your first destination, Lovćen National Park. Once you have checked into your hotel, we recommend you visit the Petar Petrovic Njegos (famous poet and philosopher) Mausoleum. There are 461 steps to the top, but the views are worth it.

Day 2   Full day in Lovćen National Park

Enjoy a hike with a local guide in the stunning Lovćen National Park - home to about 200 bird species, including falcons and eagles. This can be tailored to your interests and requirements. Visit the village of Njegusi and taste some of their famous smoked ham and cheese.

Day 3   Drive to Kotor

The drive from Lovćen National Park to Kotor is truly spectacular with its hairpin bends and dramatic views. It's only about 20km, but take your time and enjoy the experience. Check into your hotel in Kotor, which will be your base for the next 3 nights. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, exploring the narrow, winding streets of the Old Town and its fortified city walls that date back to the 9th century.

Day 4   Boka Bay boat trip

Give your car the day off and head off for a 6-hour Boka Bay boat trip that includes swimming around the famous Blue Cave, Mamula Island, Lady of the Rock and Zmajnice Beach.

Day 5   Day trip to Herceg Novi

Take the stunning hour-long drive to Herceg Novi, which follows the seaside around the beautiful Kotor Bay. Have lunch in Herceg Novi's Old Town and then enjoy the journey back to Kotor. Alternatively, ask us to arrange an overnight stay in Herceg Novi.

Day 6   Drive to Budva

Drive from Kotor to another beautiful coastal town - Budva, where you will spend the next 3 nights. How about spending the afternoon relaxing on one of the many beautiful beaches - you deserve it!

Day 7   Paddle boarding or kayaking trip

Spend a lazy morning and lunch wandering around Budva Old Town, before a paddle board or kayak trip to explore Budva's coastal caves. There will be plenty of opportunity for swimming and snorkelling en route.

Day 8   Luxury hotel stay in Sveti Stefan

After breakfast, you have a very short drive to the very picturesque Sveti Stefan, where you will enjoy a deluxe seaview room at the 5* Hotel California.

Day 9   Drive to Lake Skadar

Your final destination is Virpazar on Lake Skadar, a 40-minute drive. Once you have checked into your hotel, either do the scenic drive to Vladimir, which gives you fabulous lake views, or try one of the many walks in the area.

Day 10   Lake Skadar boat trip

You can't visit Lake Skadar without a boat trip, get set to marvel at the tranquil, deep blue waters, explore the hidden corners of the lake, and visit the charming fishing villages along its shores on this 4-hour tour. Lake Skadar is celebrated for its remarkable biodiversity and is home to more than 270 bird species, including pelicans, herons, and cormorants, making it a paradise for birdwatching enthusiasts.

Day 11   Return car to Podgorica Airport

It's just a 25-minute drive back to Podgorica Airport, where you will hand back your car and fly home. We can't wait to find out how your holiday was and see your photos!
